Special Events
The Cranbrook Legion hosts special events during the
year ... such as the annual Steak Barbecue during Sam Steele weekend in
the middle of June, and a 50s & 60s Sock Hop at the beginning of
September.
We celebrate lots of occasions during the year ...
Valentine's Day, New Year's Eve, Halloween, Remembrance Day, etc.
This page will be updated with dates and times, with
links to flyers, as soon as the information is made available.

Never to disappoint, the Kimberley Pipe Band came and provided
entertainment. We were plased to give them a donation from
our Gaming Fund. Sgt at Arms Troy Dulmage had the honour of
presenting Cpl Iudovica Harford with her medal for Cadet Of The
Year.
Note from Liela Cooper upon receiving the donation:
We’re going to be leaving here on 24 April and flying to
Amsterdam. We’re going to spend two weeks in the Netherlands.
We’re part of a pipe band, made up of 80 pipers and drummers
from all British Columbia to attend in the celebrations
to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Holland
by the allied forces.

Memo

printable version of this memo)
Comrades,
I’d like to take this opportunity to remind
you of an important service available to all Veterans. Owned and
operated by the New Chelsea Society, Winch House is a beautiful
4 bedroom, 3 bathroom town-house located in South Vancouver that
offers free, temporary accommodation to Veterans, Legion
members, Canadian Forces members, and First Responders who are
receiving medical care in the Metro Vancouver area. Winch House
allows these individuals the chance to recover from surgery with
their families, and without the added expense of costly
Vancouver accommodation. For additional information, I have
attached a brochure and announcement from the New Chelsea
society.
If you, or someone you know, requires
treatment in Vancouver and would like to book a stay at Winch
House, please contact me at (604) 575-8840 or
joseph.waugh@legionbcyukon.ca in order to arrange a
referral.
Joseph
